I definitely learned something from Nioh. Well, it reaffirmed something at least. When given the option, I prefer to fight demons. They are powerful and unpredictable, and oh, so satisfying to chop down.
The enemies aren't the sole reason Nioh became the soulslike that I've made the most progress in. Apparently, I really missed playing as a badass samurai. I've played as plenty of ninjas recently, but a samaruai feels honorable and heroic. It all adds up to make the boss battles that the genre is known for feel much more impactful and memorable. Thanks for kodama parties, Nioh.
