Apparently, I was starting to tire of slicing, piercing, and dicing my way through difficult foes. Sword fatigue was real in 2017. The cure? Clanging and banging. The Surge adds in some sparks, some loose wires, some amnesia, some sci-fi, the arms and legs of your enemeis as weapons for a souls-like stew that's worth passing around.

It's a fantastic introduction to the souls genre for players that aren't so much into fantasy. There's just something about metal objects slamming into each other that makes it really hurt when you lose a fight and even more satisfying when you win. After all, you get robotic body parts that aren't only trophies, but upgrades. Thanks for the blunt force trauma, The Surge.
