Nothing feels quite like a classic first person dungeon crawl. Well, except for other first person dungeon crawlers. They are all kind of the same, now that I think about it. I mean, I love them for their deliberate pace, the mystery and suspense around every corner, and the thrill of advancing one level deeper. I don't want to change it up too much, and Vaporum understood what I wanted before I did. Steampunk dungeon crawling.
It's a fantastic mix of the familiar with room for clanky, hot metal. After all, you can't use the same tactics against giant bugs that you use against giant robot spiders. Vaporum has both. I had to quickly identify what type of enemy was approaching to make sure I was using the right weapons and skills to bring it down before it closed the gap. Plus, there are some brutish bosses that are ready to dent your armor for fun before they crush you entirely. Thanks for the fantastical humidity, Vaporum.
Throughout January, the Games of 2017 will lead the way towards The 2017 Grimmys - Horrible Night's Games of the Year Awards.
