The rise of chiptunes and synth video game soundtracks has changed my listening habits quite a bit in the last half a dozen years. DESYNC first struck me as the visual interpretation of all of that great music. Daniel Deluxe goes ahead and raises the bar with the soundtrack for this cyber shooter.
The action keeps up with the music and vice versa. I thought DESYNC would just be a good looking and sounding Tron-like, but then it starting beating the hell out of me. I had to bring back some of my twitch shooting skills just to survive the first few levels. Then, I figured out I had to be a bit creative with my tactics to keep the waves of enemies from overwhelming me. Thanks for the sights, sounds, and synth, DESYNC.
Throughout January, the Games of 2017 will lead the way towards The 2017 Grimmys - Horrible Night's Games of the Year Awards.
