Firewatch was the first game that I did a Spoilercast on, so it holds a special place in my heart. It was also the first game to get released after the start of my gaming renaissance, so part of my fondness for the game revolves around being able to talk about games again. Hearing the variance of relationships each person formed with the characters of the game made it feel even bigger than my own personal experience.
Apart from that, the game is beautiful, the story is captivating (at least until it fades toward the end), and all in all it is a nice, concise experience that is certainly worth a play. The art and music alone are worth giving it the five or so hours it takes to complete. Thanks for being the beginning of an epic adventure, Firewatch.
Throughout January, the Games of 2016 will lead the way towards The 2016 Grimmys - Horrible Night's Games of the Year Awards.
